Date: 2020-04-07 08:24 pm (UTC)There are some truly spectacular results here from everyone, but I tried hard to pick out my favourites.
Your lighting and colouring was particularly beautiful, whether that was vibrant, muted or black and white. You showcased such a variety here, it's really impressive.
I love what you do with negative space icons and these were no exception, but I was particularly drawn to the dramatic close crop icons you had here too, especially the ones with the muted yet bright colouring.
The animated icons are so impressive and the animation is seamless and perfect for the icons. You had some stunning crops, but this one jumped out at me because it reminds me of a Renaissance painting somehow, with the muted colours and deep emotion. And your texture use was, as ever, so on point.
You had some lovely colouring and use of negative space. I also really liked your texture use and cropping!
There are some amazing and obscure crops that I am in such awe of! I also love your use of negative space and textures, and all the scenery porn!
The colouring wizardry strikes again! I love what you do with enhancing colours from a screencap but still managing to make it look so natural. There were some great compositions with textures, especially this second one. And as always your close cropping is so impressive, and I love the yellow colouring on this too.
Beautiful work with negative space and textures, and your cut-outs are just perfect every time! I loved the muted colouring from a few of these but especially this second one with the original background. And I don't know how you did it but the unusual colouring of the third icon is heavenly! I really think I have to add this show to my watch list after seeing all your gorgeous icons.
Beautiful colouring, both vibrant and muted, throughout your set. What is this first one from by the way? There was also some great use of negative space, and beautiful closer crops too.

Date: 2020-04-07 11:02 pm (UTC)now on to more pressing matters, it will be lenghty (it's that lenghty that I have to split it into two parts god i am sorry D: but I don't want to delete anything from it *looking at livejournal being mean to me* probably cause I have a lot to say and besides I'm on quarantine with nothing else to do, on that note I hope you're all safe and healthy ♥
I'll be honest, one of the hardest one for me to make was the flower one and you made yours in such beautiful way I am mad at myself for not thinking about doing something with the background lol; this one is so spot on with the texture on top of it, that I don't know it gives some sort of grunge vibe that I love ; this muted one is absolutely what i always try to achieve when doing this type of colorings and fail miserably it goes directly into my inspiration folder because of that; the light in this one is stunning plus there's that texture on it and it all comes together perfectly!
I love the way you painted on her face and then added the texture on top of it, it makes it kind of obscure despite being so bright ; the color of this icon is incredible, it has a softness to it that I find difficult to achieve ; this is possibly a perfect close crop in my opinion cause there's enough contrast between her eye and the fact that you blurred the other one out it makes it even better ; it's clear to me that the way you use lights in your icons is somehow unique in a way and this one is no different and the fact that it's in a negative space (almost) gives even more depth.
so Daisy Ridley is pretty and she's a redhead here and wow the way you casted the light on it actually makes it magical somehow ; i love how the black bacground actually doesn't eat up the icon itself despite her having a dark dress on ; this coloring is vibrant and muted at the same time and I really have no idea how you did it ; the brown tones in this one are so so good plus he's Orlando Bloom so I MEAN!!
I love masked people and this icon is no exception cause my attention goes straight there and the coloring itself has a calmness to it which I love ; I love these kind of caps where the hair is visible and you cropped it in such a good way ; this is regal no further comments, no really it's regal ; this one speaks by itself it's a close crop so it has to be in my list for sure lol

Date: 2020-04-07 11:03 pm (UTC)can you believe that when I was looking for period dramas I didn't even think of the phantom of the opera? shame on me! not much to say about this one except that i love the way you focused the attention on their hands but still keeping their faces almost visible ; this is literally so simple but so good to look at cause at the same time it doesn't look simple at all ; I love the way you used the colours on this one, keeping the yellow high but at the same time there's so much blue as well it makes it more coherent somehow ; I have a love & hate relationship with black and white icons but the fact that you put the contrast on the statue and on Christine blew my mind!
what I love about all of these is the light, and the muted color you used, that second one for example is so perfect in the scale of contrast and brightness and it actually really looks like the sunlight is on her face and also the crop of the 4th one is incredible and there it is again that balance between darkness and light: I love it!!
okay so I don't really know if that's a texture or just you using magic with colors and lights but I love the contrast in this one, there's orange and the blue of her dress and that dark spot but also the light from the side that makes everything well balanced; weirdly enough what I like the most about this one is the background, it compliments the cap in the front so perfectly ; I have never seen a crop like this, I tend to stray from these caps cause I normally can't get anything good out of them and yet here you are making such a great icon it almost speaks to whoever looks at it ; there's so much in this icon despite being so simple and I love that plus necks are good and really I love the way the focus is on everything really (I keep looking at the necklace and the earring and her hair!)
I love icons I'm not able to make this is one of those icons, and the way you use those two colours to your advantage makes it beautiful; literally the epithome of softness in an icon I love that it's a little blurry but all the things that count are not (look at that earring !!!); another one of those colours I can't achieve no matter how much I try, and also I love where's the idea of movement in an icon and this one really gives me that vibe; I love how this one made me almost weep, REALLY! It might be cause there's a white spot under his eye that looks like a tear but it's not, and I don't know if that was intentional or not but it's beautiful nonetheless!
