Yes I'm a simplistic kind of girl, I dtruggle with more complex compositions :)
As for #38 I use a method I found in someones icon making guide (sorry I don't remember who was that) I make a layer from the icon with a use of gaussian blurr and set it on soft light or screen sometimes, when I need a brighter icon. They are soft looking thanks to that :)
